Dilemma
The weather is crap. I managed to get pretty sunburnt last week from being outside pretty much every day, but this week it looks like the sun's letting me take the week off. Driving along the motorway tonight was terrible. Visibility was pretty much zero some of the time, and on the way north along the southern motorway most the cars were sitting in the left hand lane doing 70 or 80!
I need a job. I seriously need money, and I need practical experience for Engineering. The problem is I really can't be bothered looking for one, coz in reality, I really don't want one.
I'm also thinking about taking a break from uni next year. It's just an idea at the moment, but it's one I quite like. What would I do instead? Well I could work on getting that practical experience for Engineering, or I could do a course in something else instead - something a bit more practical and less intense . . . something like welding, which I love.
Although going back to finish the degree might be a challenge after that, and I definitely want to finish my degree, although I don't know what I'm going to do with it. 90% of all engineering jobs involve offices and projects and meetings and clients - all of which I hate. Even though I really like engineering. So I could finish my degree, THEN do something else for a while, but then I really need a break from uni! I've failed quite a few papers this year simply because I don't like uni, and I expect it'll be just the same next year.
And the other thing is, do I really want to spend more money doing a secondary course besides engineering? But then if I don't, what am I going to do with engineering?
And no, "maybe you shouldn't have done a Bachelor of Engineering" is NOT an answer. The minute you start saying "if only" you've just started wasting your life. I really enjoy engineering as a subject - its the university and the career options I don't like. I can't wait to be able to call myself an Engineer - it's just I'm not sure it's what I want to do.
Actually I do know what I want to do. I want to become a world class DJ. Being paid to travel the world playing music you love to your fans in massive clubs and on great beaches would be awesome! Not to mention the fact that I REALLY like teaching myself how to DJ . . .
