The Fall of America - It Begins
While "it begins" is debatable, it hasn't even been a month and the Obama Administration is already taking steps against freedom of speech and freedom of choice.
Just after Obama took office, his policy goals were uploaded to the White House website. These goals include:
- Forcing all 50 American states to recognise same sex marriages, regardless of the views of the population of that state
- Introducing "hate crime" laws that provide special rights to homosexuals and cross-dressers and discriminate against heterosexuals, by restricting and regulating what heterosexuals may say about homosexuals. This trend has already started, but the new laws would enforce it. For example the words "husband" and "wife" are already outlawed in some contexts and this can be expected to become more widespread under the new laws.
- Promoting "gay adoption" despite the massive pyschological evidence that children need both a mother and a father in their lives as they grow up.
- Promoting the widespread use of abortion, including passing the Freedom of Choice Act, which would legalise the barbaric "partial-birth" abortion procedure as well as use taxes to fund abortions.
- Promoting legislation currently known as the "Fairness Doctrine" that "review" the "obligations" that broadcasters supposedly have to the government. This would include severly restricting the freedoms of talk back radio. It's not hard to work out what that implies for the future of public debate and the flow of information in America.
Some members of Congress have introduced a bill that would repeal the 22nd ammendment to the US Constitution - the ammendment that states that a president may only have 2 terms in office - stating their hope that Obama could be "president for life."
