More Leaving

David Lange died last night. He was the prime-minister that made New Zealand nuclear free. He was prime-minister of the fourth labour government (I think Helen Clark is head of the fifth). It was interesting that he was personally against some of the reforms that his party implemented.

He was diagnosed with a blood plasma disease called amyloidosis in 2002. In July this year he was admitted back into hopsital and had kidney failure. On August 2nd his right leg was amputated without anasthetic. His autobiography was published just 6 days ago on August 8 - the same day he gave his last tv interview to John Campbell. He died as a result of his kidney failure.
